Biography

I was born in Sicily in 1985. From high school, I began to be interested in journalism and I started to collaborate with the 'Giornale di Sicilia' as a writer. In 2004 I went to Palermo to study at the university in a Philosophy course and then in foreign languages. In 2010 I got my first camera reflex and in 2013 I moved to London to dedicate myself to photojournalism. My experience in the squatter and activist world allowed me to photograph from within a reality that deeply expired me. In London, I had my first photos published in local newspapers. In 2015 I decided to professionalize my knowledge, so I started a Documentary Photography degree in Barcelona. In the same year, I collaborated with a group of activist photographers documenting the social struggle in the Catalan capital. Through this, I got my pictures published with independent media in Catalonia and Italy. In 2018 I started to collaborate with Abacapress photography agency and in 2020 with Sopa Images. At the same time, travelling to Mexico I began to collaborate with the writer Natalia Torres, we have been published together in media such as El Pais (Spain), ElSalto (Spain), EsGlobal (Spain), New Internationalist (England), EarthIsland Journal (USA) and Toward Freedom (USA).
